Dayton, Ohio’s D.Knight has emerged as one of the leaders of the Midwest, collaborating with artists and performing throughout the region. D. Knight immediately stands out a cut above the rest, with his voice commanding our attention and when coupled with verses of honesty, D. Knight’s talent and energy cannot be denied. Over the course of the last few years, D.Knight has been on the radio, won ‘Best Hip-Hop Artist’ at the 2022 Buckeye Awards, and even had his single “Without Fear” from 2018 featured on the CW’s hit show ‘All-American’. During all of this though, D. Knight was still in the studio creating and perfecting his latest album. With his third overall project ‘Make Myself At Home’, D. Knight looks to solidify his mark on hip-hop. At 11 tracks deep, ‘Make Myself At Home’ is a needed listen as 2022 comes to a close.
‘Make Myself At Home’ is the return of the artist’s album, so often artists are told to stay in one particular lane or sound but D.Knight takes this chance to show the range of his talent. The epic opening “The Perseverance” sets the listener up for the journey ahead. D. Knight bares all on this album, the ups and downs, the wins and losses and everything in between. Tracks like “Pursuit” show D.Knight’s relentlessness in going after his goals and what he hopes to accomplish. The very next track “Never Enough” featuring Dub The Poet has both artists exploring the doubts that we all have but choosing to push forward and keep working. With the bulk of the production handled by Ash Matthews & Young Sunflower, the album flows perfectly despite Knight tackling a myraid of topics. The last quarter of the album brings everything together as D.Knight opens up about his past and everything it took just to present this album to the masses. Whether it’s the track “2017” where Knight speaks on the year that changed his life or the actual closer in “All I Been Through” the Ohio artist is making a statement with ‘Make Myself At Home’.
